A Different Strokes member who joined the ARNI Master Class on July 2nd 2009, and in one lesson got down to and up from the floor with just a little help – now she she needs to do to practice it herself. Go Anne!
Hello Tom.
Just a few lines to say how much I enjoyed meeting you and hearing your positive outlook for stroke sufferers. I have been practising jumping, something I never thought I would do. I am finding the book very interesting, as for getting up from the floor (that will take some working on).
I do not think there is enough after-care for stroke sufferers within the N.H.S. system. Mine consisted of six visits from a physiotherapist to encourage mobility. Nothing for the arm or hand, or how to re-join the local community. I was unable to walk far ,so I was inside my home for two years. I have been attending Different Strokes for three years, and I am on the committee taking the minutes as well as involved with fundraising. When I met you I would never have thought that you had suffered a stroke, you seemed so fit. The one thing we all have in common is determination . Determination to still get the most from life.
Kind regards.
