STROKE SURVIVORS INFORMATION PAGE
After returning from rehabilitation hospitals, or having finished with the help of physiotherapists, you will have probably realised that you must try to recover at home or get out and rehabilitate yourself in a local gym or health centre, otherwise you will probably just regress. Which would be terrible, after the attention paid in-clinic by the MDT to your rehabilitation before and after discharge. Read here why retraining and exercise after stroke is so essential, not just for physical but for cognitive improvement. Unfortunately, as you can imagine, many reasons (real and imaginary) may stop you from making this change. Gyms or other training areas are often daunting places for you to go and when you get there, unsurity about exercise selection and technique either stops or injures the uninformed.
Your Instructor’s remit will be to facilitate you to phase to largely rehabilitate yourself AUTONOMOUSLY, as soon as you can. Your Instructor will give you the tools you need to help yourself and support, guide and guard you in your long-term journey through recovery after stroke.
THE ARNI INSTITUTE TRAINS HIGHLY ABLE PT INSTRUCTORS & THERAPISTS ALL AROUND THE UK, AND MATCHES THEM WITH STROKE SURVIVORS IN THEIR AREAS, UPON YOUR REQUEST.
DEPENDING UPON THE INSTRUCTOR, YOU MAY FIND ONLY ONE TO ONE SESSIONS OR GROUP STROKE EXERCISE CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE. IN SOME CASES, BOTH.
